First ion the water again, and once again overpowered with my 5.7m in the 25 knot winds, but with that as my only sail at the moment I had no choice. I therefore decided to do an upwind expedition, into the estuary channel and the lee of the hill behind Aberdovey, and then across the estuary to Ynyslas.

There were some meaty waves over the bar and with the tide ebbing and a NW wind some viscous chop too. Once in the lee of the hill things quietened down a little and I was just nicely powered up there. However, not far off the beach at Aberdovey and the wind was channeling through the gap at ridiculous speeds... I should really have been on a 4m in there, especially as to get to the other side of the estuary I had to go on a few downwind runs...Still, better downwinding completely overpowered on flat water than dowwinding maxed out in amongst the waves.

I then had a pleasant walk back to my van and packed up... Apparently though some people had got a little worried over my whereabouts, so the RNLI were out looking for me!... Well, there was no-one on the beach to tell of my intentions when I set off.

Can't wait for the new kit to arrive so that I can have a proper days sailing with the correct sized board and sail for the conditions.
